Remembering Rep. John Lewis

We are morning today because a Titan in his own way passed today, Representative John Lewis of Georgia. On July 17, 2020, at the age of 80, after a battle with pancreatic cancer he passed away. Congressman Lewis will have a 6-Day celebration of Life Memorial that will began on Saturday the 25th in his hometown of Troy, Alabama. Over the next week, Lewis will lie at the U.S. Capitol, Alabama State Capitol and Georgia State Capitol in Remembrance of his contributions to the United States . 

One location that he will travel will be over the historical Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. the procession across the bridge took place in Selma where Lewis and other voting rights demonstrators were beaten 55 years ago on “Bloody Sunday.”   

   

Congreessman John Lewis was a civil rights and voting rights icon that was known as the ‘Conscience of the U.S. Congress.’ 

We interviewed Mr. John Lewis when President Barrack Obama was running for President of the United States.
