AFC Championship Pre -Game

Q: The 8:14 drive.
BH: “Crazy, right? Yeah, it was a great drive. It took a lot of time off the clock, and we were able to finish the game.”
Q: Is that what you want to do if you’re an offense, dictate how the game goes? That drive sort of took care of things.
BH: “Yeah, absolutely. I think that drive definitely took a lot of time in DANIEL “BOOM” HERRONthe fourth quarter. I think it helped the defense out a lot and got them some rest. It kept Peyton (Manning) off the field. It all worked out for us.”

Q: How is the shoulder?
BH: “It’s good. It’s doing really good.”

Q: How did the shoulder feel yesterday?
BH: “It was a little sore, but it felt great today.”

Q: Walk us through your mindset when you went to training camp. There were three running backs ahead of you. Did you ever foresee that you’d be the feature guy when the playoffs came?
BH: “Going into camp, it was just one of those things that I just had to show up and show the coaches what I was capable of doing. I always felt like I could be a part of this team and help this team out. Just when the opportunity showed up, you need to definitely take advantage of it.”

Q: Do you ever shake your head about injuries and everything that’s happened that allowed you to jump into that role?
BH: “I don’t really shake my head. You never want to see anybody get hurt or anything like that. It’s just one of those things, like I said, when the opportunity comes, you just have to really seize it and really take advantage of it.

Q: How painful was the shoulder during the game?
BH: “It was pretty sore. I actually feel a lot better today than I did yesterday, so I’ll be fine.”

Q: What did the trainer say to you on the sideline and what did you say to him?
BH: “They were trying to check me out and make sure I was good, and I was just letting them know that I was okay. It’s just one of those things that is part of the game; you’ll get banged up here and there, but you’ve always got to keep going.”

Q: This series between the Colts and the Patriots has been one-sided. How good is it to get an opportunity to get them again?
BH: “They’re a great team. They have a great defense, a great offense and a great coaching staff. We’re very happy to get another opportunity to play against these guys. It’s definitely going to be a dogfight, and we definitely have our work cut out for us.”
