NAACP President and CEO to Join South Carolina NAACP for “King Day at the Dome”

(COLUMBIA, SC) – NAACP President and CEO Cornell William Brooks will join the NAACP South Carolina State Conference for the annual “King Day at the Dome” rally on Monday, January 19th. The event is held each year at the South Carolina State House to commemorate Dr. King’s life, draw attention to economic and educational inequalities in the state, and protest the Confederate battle flag flying in front of the State House building.

**President Brooks will hold a Press Availability immediately following the worship service.**

Rally Schedule (Monday, January 19th)
8:30 am: Prayer Service at Zion Baptist Church (801 Washington Street)
9:30 am: OR IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING worship service: Press Availability for President Brooks
10:30 am: March to State House, followed by rally
