15th Anniversary Celebration To Feature Erykah Badu, R.B.R.M., Monica and More
January 14, 2019(Charlotte, NC) –Funk Fest will begin the celebration of its 15thSeason in Orlando at Funk Fest Florida on Friday, April 26 –Saturday, April 27 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.Anestimated20,000 music lovers are expected to attend to enjoy a star-studded line-up featuring top talent from the R&B and Hip-Hop music genres that currently includes: Erykah Badu, R.B.R.M. (Bell Biv Devoe & Bobby Brown), Monica, Plies, Jagged Edge, 112, Doug E. Fresh, Dru Hill, Ginuwine, Juvenile, Raheem Devaughn, and Stokley. Daily performance schedules will be released, and tickets are available for purchase by visiting www.funkfesttour.com.
Since 2004, Funk Fest producer Variety Entertainment Productions (VEP)has curated concerts that feature some of the best Hip Hop, R&B, and Soul artists from the past two decades to create a unique music experience for fans in Southeastern cities. The 2018Tour visited six cities, entertained over75,000 people, donated $10,000to scholarships and community causes and delivered some major cultural moments, like the inaugural performance of R.B.R.M., and comeback performances by 702 and Blaque. The 2019Tour will be just as exciting and will include major announcements and surprises for attendees.
“We normally visit multiple cities in states like Florida and Alabama, but this year, we’re focusing on some key destinations to enhance the overall Festival experience and to deliver a high-power concert to consumers from the entire region,” said Leo Bennett, Founder & CEO of Funk Fest. “We are grateful for the fan support we’ve received over the past 15 years, and plan to make the 2019 season one for the books with big talent, VIP Experience Packages and other events throughout the Festival weekend.”
Cities and dates for the 2019Tour include: Orlando, FL(April 26-27), Birmingham, AL(May 11), Louisville, KY(June 15), Atlanta, GA(TBA), and Nashville, TN(TBA). The featured artists in each city will vary.
