Captain Kirk Finally Goes into Space in Real Life

1209

On October23, 2021 the Blue Origin space program sent 4 more people into space to experience the ‘Civilians in Space,’ ride for regular humans that are not considered astronauts.

This 11 minute trip was quick but it was one of a kind.  The capsule allowed 4 people to have a 4 minute zero gravity experience.

Among the crew was William Shatner, 90 years old, and the oldest person to experience space travel. Audrey Powers, Blue Origin’s vice president of mission and flight operations, as well as Chris Boshuizen and Glen de Vries.

The vision of the Blue Origin company was founded by Jeff Bezos to enable a future where millions of people are living and working in space to benefit Earth. In order to preserve Earth, Blue Origin believes that humanity will need to expand, explore, find new energy and material resources, and move industries that stress Earth into space. Blue is working on this today by developing partially and fully reusable launch vehicles that are safe, low cost and serve the needs of all civil, commercial and defense customers.
