This Juneteenth weekend Indianapolis had several celebrations for the new National Holiday. There were several organizations that participated this year. The Madam Walker Legacy Center had a block party tent that had many artist from all over the Indiana area performing on stage.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Madam Walker Legacy Center is one of the last surviving iconic building on Indiana Avenue, the Madam Walker Legacy Center is a significant piece of our nation\u2019s history and is listed on the register of National Historic Landmarks. This organization continues to serve as an enduring symbol of not only African-American pride and achievement but also pride for women and quite frankly, all citizens of the world by perpetuating the legacy of our nation\u2019s first self-made woman millionaire.\u00a0<\/p>\n
