12TH ANNUAL SEA WEEKEND INFO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Over the years, the Southern Entertainment Awards (SEAs) have been a staple in Southern Culture and Entertainment and it’s no different as they head for a new direction in their 12th year.\u00a0 The 12th Annual Southern Entertainment Awards & Conference will be held at a destination location to be announced shortly from April 9th – 12th, 2015. Many key industry insiders will be featured as guest panelists\/speakers.<\/p>\n

In just 12 years, the Southern Ent Awards grew from only being recognized in a few states to throughout the entire SOUTH.\u00a0 Artists from all genres, producers, event promoters, DJs and fans of all things independent & entertainment (southern, entertainment that is) all filed into the Gibson\u2019s Showcase for the very first Southern Entertainment Awards? There was curiosity, there was excitement, but most of all, there was unified agreement that it was definitely time for this kind of platform to be provided in a major, major way.<\/p>\n

Over the course of the past decade, whether the three-day event took place in Music City, Tunica or Memphis, there have been consistently impressive turnouts; expansions of categories; local, national and international media coverage and nominations as well as awards given to some of the best in independent and mainstream music. Some of the national honorees include Yo Gotti, Nicki Minaj, B.o.B., Conya Doss, Algebra Blessett, Rudy Currence and Big K.R.I.T., just to name a few. With panels and performances, fashion shows and at one point, even a magazine, perhaps this is why what was once seen as a \u201cregional event\u201d is now esteemed as a recognizable brand throughout the world, from the UK to Japan, Chicago to California.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOne thing that has held true as an important asset in the industry is the need to network and build relationships,\u201d says Janiro Hawkins, co-founder of the SEAs. \u201cThe SEAs creates a \u2018family environment\u2019 for networking and education for those attending\u2026we’re one of the few platforms that allows both the \u2018talent\u2019 and \u2018consumer\u2019 the opportunity to have a say-so in who’s nominated and ultimately who wins.”<\/p>\n
