Ashley Tutherow had a breakout weekend for the Hawks in her first collegiate matches. She tallied 39 kills over the course of three matches as Chowan finished 1-2 as part of the Spike-Out Hunger Challenge hosted by Winston-Salem State. Tutherow tallied 18 kills in a 3-2 win over West Virginia Wesleyan, seven in a 3-1 loss to Shepherd and 14 in a 3-1 setback to Fairmont State.
