The Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival is gearing up for its 5th year with a phenomenal line-up of urban features, documentaries and shorts shown September 15-23 at Shaker Square Cinema in Shaker Heights, Ohio. GCUFF continues to provide a unique voice for the stories that need to be told about people of color. Over the past 4 years, GCUFF has screened 75 feature films and 100 short films that showcased diverse content exploring a broad range of topics. Opening Night will be held on Thursday, September 15 at the Gartner Auditorium at the Cleveland Museum of Art (11150 East Blvd. Cleveland, Ohio). In addition to a Monologue Competition and Community Screenings there will be a number of workshops dedicated to increasing awareness and dialog around important issues and stories from within our communities. Featured Panels includes State of Black Media and Marketing and Distribution Using Digital Media.

The mission of GCUFF is to create a space within the Greater Cleveland community that fosters artistic expression and collaborations as well as recognize and reward independent filmmakers. GCUFF is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of African American and African Diaspora cinema, as well as, the education of media arts, desiring to assure the event’s continued growth and success for years to come; GCUFF is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status.
